Getting a new (to me) used car - help!? I've been trying to get a new car and I've been doing research on several different cars. Here's my problem, I'm trying to get something *relatively* inexpensive (up to $5K), low miles (preferably lower than 150K), reliable and somewhat newer (LESS than 10 years old), with a clean title and preferably a manual. =================== used hondas| honda used cars

mathilda555, how are you? How is you website? Where is your link? As far as used cars, its better you buy it from a owner. At least their more honest and you can get a history of what is not working or what needs to be repaired. Plus you always get a bargain and get a better price than from a dealer. Its much better than a dealer. From my experience a typical used car will need at least between $1,000 - $2,000 preventive and needed repairs. This will range from replacing a timing belt to replacing new tires. A good alternative to hondas is a geo metro. Great for gas mileage. Remember cars are consumables, its not an investment. It only gets you from point a to b. So if you can buy a car for $1,000 plus add another $1,000 - $2,000 in repair, you have a car that will last you at least 7 years. Here's a link on how to buy a used car from a private owner: usedcars.about.com/od/gettingstarted/a/Top10QPrivSell.htm
